CREATING A BIT OF A SCENE....

Hi Everyone - Back tonight with a continuation of our 'Scenic Stamping' Challenge inspiration!  Nice to see some fantastic entries appearing already - do have a look at them Here and please join in by linking up your version of Scenic Stamping soon.  It is lovely to have our friend Coco in charge of this Challenge, and some time ago she sent me lots of pictures showing how she went about making her new Blog header image.  I thought the time was right, and the Challenge title perfect, to show you some of the images today, and here they are!

This is the actual header - can't make it any bigger sadly here, so do check out Coco's blog for the fuller picture....

I love the step by steps, and don't think you need a written explanation as the images speak for themselves...

Lots of CI products making an appearance here. I hope the steps are appearing here in the right order as for some reason they got a little mixed up when trying to upload them.  Cool though aren't they?

I am also going to insert a very cleverly decorated basket by Gio in this post too, as it is another great example of Scenic Stamping for you, and I'm loving the colours, the lace, and the finished article....

And here are the step by steps using stamps CI-137 and CI-411....

Simply gorgeous in pink and orange and emerald green!

And my final make tonight is an adorable scenic card by Daniele, made using stamps CI-422 and CI-206.....

Loving all that luscious pink!  Thanks to the ladies above for their help and attention, and thanks to you too for joining us today.

Back soon,

Jean x

p.s. Better do a giveaway next time I think as we haven't had one for ages!

A CHALLENGE FOR JANUARY 2015 - SCENIC STAMPING

Happy New Year all.  Thanks for reading our blog through 2014, and thanks always for your kind comments, and now on with 2015, and our first challenge of the new year.

The subject for the challenge has been chosen by Coco, and is the title of 'Scenic Stamping'.  We would love it if you would show Coco your support by linking in an entry before the end of January.  Basically the title suggests that you create some kind of a scene involving at least one of our products in the make.  The scene might be made using just one of our collage stamps, or might incorporate several of the items from an Elements plate, or might use several of our different stamps combined together - to tell a bit of a story.  I think it is a really good subject to choose, and gives lots of scope for experiment.

Here are the usual guidelines to follow:

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

To enter this month's Crafty Individuals Challenge please put together your chosen project, which must include at least one Crafty Individuals product please, then post your Challenge project on your Blog, before the end of the month, and include a link back to this Blog.  Leave a link in the URL box displayed in this post to take us directly to your Challenge project, which will then appear on this Blog as a thumbnail image - so we can all see your wonderful arty work.

At the end of the month Coco will set about choosing five lucky participants, each of whom will win a CI rubber stamp of their choice, and don't forget that as per usual, once you have linked in your creation, you can also claim a lovely 25% discount code to use on anything you purchase from the CI Website, which will be valid until the 10th of February.

Go for it, and enjoy the challenge x

.....

As always we look forward to seeing your entries - you will be in with a chance of winning a free stamp, and you will also be able to obtain a cool 25% CI web discount.  When you have linked in your entry please email us at info@craftyindividuals.co.uk to obtain your special code, and then go shopping!

And now its time for a bit of inspiration to get you creatively focussed.

Lets start with some makes by Coco herself to inspire.  I love this scene she has created very cleverly with Christmas themed stamps..

CI-254 makes an appearance here, plus CI-421, and several more.  A great work of art.  Then I have a tag scene, again by Coco, to show that the idea can be fairly complicated, as above, or quite simple, but still creating something of a scene...

Laury has used the same stamp in her winter's scene, and has added some very pretty trees and stars to the card too....

And the final piece of scenic stamping inspiration tonight is by lovely Joanna....

.... very pretty in pink, and totally fabulous!  The focal stamp here is CI-331.

Hope you begin to get the idea, and of course without your support we couldn't run the challenge.  So please join in, and we do so look forward to seeing your ideas linked in above!!

Lots more to follow,

Jean x

TWIXT CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR....

Here we are in that rather strange time period - between Christmas and New Year.  Hope you had lots of Christmas fun, and have you been to the sales?  I haven't as yet - would rather wait till it all gets a little quieter really.  We had a walk on the beach today - it was freeeeeezing - but bracing!  Then because we had the dog with us we ate some lunch at a table outside - must be barking mad (lol)!

I thought I would have another one of those catch up sessions today where I share a bundle of makes with you that I have waiting in a folder, before we are in with the New Year and the start of a New Challenge for January, so here we go...

Still on the Christmas theme here Daniele has made a fabulous little mini album to celebrate a night out with her fellow workers.  This is such a great idea, and lovely to view..

The stamp Daniele used on the front cover is CI-424 'Jolly Holly Robins'.  She has decorated some tags with our Christmas stamps to pop in the tag pockets, and I am loving the use of another new stamp by Gio CI-426 embossed onto parchment and cut out I think.

I have another two makes by Daniele as well - not Christmassy this time - but ones that may help us think of warmer and sunnier days..

The two stamps making their appearances in these makes are CI-320 and CI-389 and I'm loving the stitching on these too.

Another sunnier days make is by Brenda, and the stamp used here is CI-347.  I seem to remember that Brenda said she had used an acrylic stamping block to print the background colour on this card, which she combined with colour from Distress ink pads - nice idea Brenda!

Must give that a try soon!

Gio's turn is next and she has been busy with those lace stamps of hers herself...

And she has make lots of different things with them such as a card, earrings, a scrapbook layout and some rather lovely pouches.  If you check out Gio's own blog just now you will see many more projects sporting CI stamps beautifully - just scroll down after clicking HERE.

Gio has also had a play with the latest tag stamps CI-427 and CI-428 and used them separately here....

Love the idea of covering notebooks (top two)!

I have made a card with one of these tag stamps, but I used it as a whole stamp - either way is fine - there are plenty of makes possible with these Elements tag stamps, they are extremely versatile...

I stamped the whole stamp twice - used the first stamping as the flat background, and used certain tags from the second stamping cut out and applied over the first with sticky fixers (I punched holes and added some twine too).

My final make to show you tonight is by Joanna, and is totally adorable!  She was inspired to make it by a Graphic45 tutorial, and has completely transformed a humble dolly peg, with a little help from papers from our Springtime Background Book, and a butterfly from a Mini Image Book, into a ballerina - loving this....

Thanks for viewing, hope you have enjoyed the images?!

Before I sign out I am wondering if you have seen that we have added a new department on our website at www.craftyindividuals.co.uk, for the New Year to come?  We thought we would add some of our own personal work for you to view bit by bit, and have started it all off with a series of 20 rather lovely photographic greeting cards by Malcolm - yay!
