'BOXES OF ALL SORTS' - A MARCH CHALLENGE....

Emailed entry from Alison
......

We have a lovely new challenge for you starting today, the topic has been chosen by Sylvie, one of our teamies, and the subject matter is 'BOXES OF ALL SORTS'.  As always this is open to your own interpretation and your boxes may be 3D ones like Sylvie's gorgeous make or may be more of the 2D kind perhaps - something like my own interpretation shown below maybe, based on flat square 'boxes'.

Here are the usual guidelines:

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES
To enter this month's Crafty Individuals Challenge please put together your chosen project, which must include at least one Crafty Individuals product please, then post your Challenge project on your Blog, before the end of the month, and include a link back to this Blog.  Leave a link in the URL box displayed in this post to take us directly to your Challenge project, which will then appear on this Blog as a thumbnail image - so we can all see your wonderful arty work.  If you don't have a blog we are happy to accept emailed image entries too.

At the end of the month Sylvie will set about choosing five lucky participants, each of whom will win a CI rubber stamp of their choice, and don't forget that as per usual, once you have linked in your creation, you can also claim a lovely 25% discount code to use on anything you purchase from the CI Website, which will be valid to use until the 10th of April.

Go for it, and enjoy the challenge x

....

As always we very much look forward to seeing your entries - you will be in with a chance of winning a free stamp, and you will also be able to obtain a cool 25% CI web discount.  When you have linked in your entry please email us at info@craftyindividuals.co.uk to obtain your special code, and then go shopping!

....

As I said above Sylvie's inspirational make is gorgeous - very clever indeed, and a great way to recycle a cat food box!  I have lots of colourful photos for you.  She has also given me some step by steps to show you which I will also pop below.  Lots of CI stamps appear on this make, all of which can be found at www.craftyindividuals.co.uk

Here are the steps....

Don't you just love those little feet too?!!

Here is my own 'flatter' take on 'Boxes of all sorts'...

I'm also going to add another couple of 'boxes' I made recently - okay I know they are cones really, but seeing as it is 'all sorts of boxes', maybe we can stretch it to cones too - lol?!!

The first cone is made with paper from our 'Seville' book, and the second with vellum stamped with CI-443  and embossed in white.  We are also selling the plain and vellum cones on the website now which you can find HERE.

We would love it if you would join in with us, and link a make in above.  Looking forward to it!

Bye for now,

Jean x

A LOVELY SUNNY DAY.....

Here in Yarm it has been a very lovely sunny day, the birds were singing on our dog walk this morning, and it felt very Springlike altogether. Some of the trees are also starting to bud.  The mud is at last beginning to dry up and we had a coffee and a chat to some friends in a very sunny spot in the park.  Hope we've seen the last of the horrible constant rain for a while and Spring is really on its way.

Last Sunday I had a trip to the NEC and 'Stitches' trade show.  So lots of lovely products, great demos, and lovely crafty people to chat with.  I went with Lesley (Chocolate Baroque), and we had a good mooch around and a catch up with old friends. It was fun!  Talking about new crafty products we have a few new goodies online now.  Check them out HERE if you fancy having a look, and maybe acquiring something new to decorate and personalise!

I have been sorting through some computer folders looking for images to show you this evening, so I have some makes to display that were made quite a while ago (and I have just rediscovered) as well as some more recent ones by the teamies.

I decorated an MDF tray with CI stamps and tissue papers....

Then I decorated some coasters to match....

(We sell the coasters - http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/search/coasters, and they make a great pressie once embellished)

I have a couple of makes by Helen now.....

The Mallards are from CI-297, and the clock workings from CI-305.
Helen also played with the two teds more recently- so sweet....

I have quite a lot of makes by Coco to show, but I will start with some great mixed media Valentine type cards that she made recently....

Check out the couple from CI-439, and the useful wordy background stamp CI-258.

Joanna has made these divine beauties.....

..... using stamps CI-415, CI-422, and the swirl die is looking lovely on the wedding card with lots of pretty white flowers as well.

Finally I have some makes old and new by lovely Sylvie....

---the first two featuring stamps by Alice Palace.
Followed by two prettily tasselled tags....

.... lots of CI stuff on board here including the owlets from CI-442 and the Flower Heads from CI-445.
Her most recent crafty make is one with the Two lovely Teds again plus doilies by Gio....

Lots more to come, and also a new challenge for March soon, although I might be a day or so late blogging that as I am away friend visiting this weekend ....... but do watch this space next week!!

Thanks for leaving your comments lovely folks - you are all stars!

MORE PRETTY LITTLE THINGS.....

I guess I should be featuring hearts tonight, seeing as it is 'Valentines Day' tomorrow here in the UK, but the makes I have stored are totally heart less!  However I do have some rather pretty little things, and some rather romantic images to show you, and here they are....

This is a very beautiful card by Daniele, definitely in the colours of romance I would say - I love this!

Daniele has used an image from our People and Places book, and background stamps CI-435 and CI-350 here.

Followed by some card makes by Sylvie using our new stamps based on families and love....

Adorably sweet and beautifully coloured they feature CI-444, CI-449, CI-439, and our lovely new trees A4 plate CI-450 in the distance.

Joanna has been using a very effective new technique 'Black Magic' and the trees from the new plate, plus our Seville book papers, to make the following beauties....

You can check out the technique here I believe https://scrappystickyinkymess.wordpress.com/2014/05/20/that-black-magic-technique-updated/
It looks great, and I was lucky enough to receive one of these cards from Joanna myself for my recent birthday....

....again featuring the paisley stamp CI-435 mentioned above.

I will finish off tonight with a blast of colour from Helen.....

Helen used CI stamps, alcohol inks, and some 'Yupo' paper that is new to me.  Must give it a go - looks fun!

Thank you for joining me here this evening and I hope you all have a lovely romantic day tomorrow with your loved ones.

Back soon,

Jean x
