BESIDE THE SEASIDE, BESIDE THE SEA....

Malcolm, Monty and I had a lovely day by the seaside today in Staithes.  Well actually firstly we drove to Danby Moors Centre to see an amazing paintings exhibition by Peter Hicks, who is one of my most favourite artists - stunning semi abstract North Yorkshire landscapes - and then we crossed over to Staithes to the Arts Festival, which takes place over 2 days and features more than 100 artists' work in cottages and halls in the village.  It was busy and fantastic! We were certainly on the culture vulture trail today!

So tonight I am going to catch up on some seaside scenes by the team.  Mostly themed cards by Flo, but with the addition of a little extra beauty by Sylvie, and another by Helen.....

Sylvie's beauty first I think, a tag featuring an older stamp CI-119..

Super colours Sylvie!

Then a great fun card by Helen with a paper from our Travels in Italy book with one of the new funky flamingos (CI-473) on top (nice bent leg Helen!)....

The rest are by Flo, and appeared on Hochanda in the first instance...

Ships ahoy to start with...

...Featuring stamps CI-295 and CI-294.

Then we have a few featuring lighthouses (CI-397 and CI-384).  Flo used the edge of the feather from CI-384 to create the grass effect in the middle one below - how clever is that?!...

Finally this evening Flo was also being very clever with the little boy (Kit) from CI-459,
firstly in sitting him in the deckchair below - so cute...

And then popping him in a red spotty sunhat in this one...

Here he is again just simply enjoying the beach...

Two dates for your diaries folks - I will be crafting merrily away on Hochanda again on Sunday, 1st October, at 4pm and 7pm, and would absolutely adore your company, and then we will both be at Port Sunlight Happy Stampers show on Saturday, 7th October - do hope you can join us there too! (If you still need to purchase your tickets please be quick as I believe they are selling even faster than usual.)

Thanks for looking in on us today!

Back soon,

Jean x

What fabulous tags and cards Jean and full of prettily coloured images. I have the shells, starfish and seahorse stamps and I love the wonderful scene that Sylvie has woven around them, and then the gorgeous flamingo with what looks like a silhouette of gondolas tied up in the backgound, and love the post marks round the edge. Flo's lovely collage style cards are beautifully put together and I adore the lighthouse on the cliffs with the seagull, and then the sweet little boy in the deckchair with the lovely beach huts in the background, and the boy with his bucket and spade is so different using the red polka dot paper. The last has that scrapbook look with the eclectic mix of papers, shells and foliage and the little boy staring out to sea. I couldn't pick a favourite as they are all fantastic. x

Wow, what great inspiration! Where do you find Florence Langley online? Does she do video tutorials? I don't have the skills to make tags like these! I would love to learn more!
