IT'S BEEN A BIT OF A WEEK ALL IN ALL.....

It has been a bit of a week!  As you know we were in Doncaster at the Stamp Magic show last weekend, and all in all October has been, and still is being a very busy month for us this year.  However on Wednesday, just gone, poor Malcolm had a heart attack right out of the blue (very scary indeed)!!!  Thanks to the amazingly rapid response of the NHS he is still here to tell the tale - in fact we had a lunch of fish and chips sat in the sunshine on a terrace at our local seaside town today.  How surreal is that?!  Apart from feeling a bit tired, and having had 2 stents fitted, he is pretty much back to being fighting fit again.

He has in fact always been quite a fit guy, slim, a non smoker, plays sport - table tennis in particular, used to run marathons and climb mountains, not a big drinker - so where on earth did that come from?  So please be aware folks that it can happen to anyone! So if you have pains in your chest, and left arm, and shortness of breath, and you think you might be having a heart attack, dial 999.  Ok lecture over now I promise.

Apart from that news we can also introduce you to 2 fantastic new teamies tonight, who are joining the Crafty Individuals fold, lovely Sarah and Chris.  Sarah's blog is: http://sarahanderson1.blogspot.com/ and Chris' blog is: http://pearshapedcrafting.blogspot.com/

So now I have some of their artwork to share with you.....

A couple of things from Sarah, and, oh my goodness, I do love those penguins (from CI-392)...

....And the funky typewriter above is from CI-455.

Plus some pretties from Chris...

Stamps used by Chris include CI-498, CI-501, CI-430, CI-403, and CI-137.  Loving the wording on the Raven journal page, ha ha!

Next weekend we have the Art, Stamp and Play workshop, together with Chocolate Baroque - not long to wait now folks.

Thanks for reading, back soon,

Jean x

Oh Jean, so sorry to hear about your husband's heart attack but glad that the stents have fixed the problem, it must have been such a shock. As you say it is wise to get things checked out straight away if you think you have a problem, just to be sure. I love these creations from your two new DT members, so hello to Sarah and Chris. I love them all but the sentiment on the raven journal page really made me laugh and those penguins are so cute and funny. I hope the workshop goes well. x

Oh Jean. What a horrible scare for you both. Thank goodness the paramedics could get to him on time. My brother in law passed recently from a heart attack. Fit as a fiddle, played sport, healthy, ex PE teacher, golfer, keen gardener. It was also out of the blue although he 'had been feeling a little unwell'. You are right to remind us all to take note of all those signs! Wonderful to know you were able to share those fish and chips a few days later. Our fabulous NHS xxx

Oh my goodness Jean, I’m absolutely shocked to read this as it’s only a week since we were chatting to you both and Malcolm looked the picture of health. It really does go to show how quickly things can happen and our lives can be changed but I’m so pleased to hear that he’s on the mend now and my Hubby and I wish him a speedy recovery. You take care of yourself too as it must have been a frightening week for you. Welcome to our two new teamies Sarah and Chris and what fabulous artwork. Its lovely to have you join us and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your fabulous work. Crafty hugs, Sandra x x

Sounds so scarry to see Malcolm like that...so strange and not to tell who will expierience something like that...
I lost my best friend at age allmost 21 at it... (Non smoker and no drinker at all; just a student studying hard to become an farmasist) So always be alert and learn how to reanimate.
The work of Sarah looks nice fresh and colourfull and Chrisses looks a bit vintage and modern...nice combination!
Stay healthy! Hugs, Gerrina
